Insurance?

Hey guys, i just got done checkin some stuff out with my insurance carrier, and i was asking about a 79 280z. She told me that it would be around 380 for just liability!!! I'm 18 years old, and have only had one ticket, which was for 15mph over the speed limit. I thought that was pretty high, considering it is a vintage car, and i have a pretty clean record...

Anyone have any suggestions? Like is this normal for it to be this high? Or is there any way i can lower it?..I have good grades and all that...so is there any other way? Thanks a lot.

Re: Insurance?

Umm....you're 18. Insurance is going to be relatively high wherever you go. Shop around. Try and get on your parents insurance as an occasional driver. That should drop your payments somewhat. Or you could always say that you're married. You'll need to provide the spouse of course!

Re: Insurance?

going along with the topic, i have another question. im 16 and i am going to buy a 300zx soon and i want to know about what my insurance would be for full coverage. i have good grades and i have a clean record. i know i can afford the car, i jus dont know if i can afford the insurance with it. i dont know if this will help or not, but i live in the kansas city metro (insurance might change place to place??).

$380 for what

Is that a month or 6 months. If its a month that seems way to high. Okay if you were 16, not 18. Try progressive's online quote system then call and check a couple loser places that advertise on TV.

Hell I'm 28 and pay $600 every six months living in DC with a 91 2+2.
