snow tires

well i've been convinced that i won't last the winter with my 17's. now i gotta get some stock wheels for the winter, but wanna get them as cheap as possible. if i go to a junkyard, what things do i need to consider when buying tires/wheels? they quoted real cheap prices over the phone, and i just need them to last for the winter.

Re: snow tires

If you go to the junkyard make sure the tires aren't cracked. Personally I wouldn't risk my car with tires from a junk yard.

I think Kumho makes some cheap snow tires if I remember right. Go to http://www.tirerack.com

buy the weels from the junk yardm then go get new tires, If you are wanting to go with studs, you can buy those and have them mounted and balanced for around $300-$350 if you shop right. so that plus what you pay for rims at a junk yard shouldn't be to much. Also when buying rims at the junk yard make sure you get the right lug pattern. Different models had diff. patterns.
