Is that a "candy coat" paint process? If it is, would you please describe the steps that are taken and how they are different from a regular paint process?
I'm trying to learn about paints, any descriptions would be helpful. |

from my understanding...you do your body work...sand, prep, seal...and then do the primer... depending on the primer...how dark it is etc... it sets up the paint to be a light or dark color...on this car...we used a light gray primer... after this you follow up with the base coat...the general color that you will be going for....again..how much you apply will change the outcome of the color of the car....i dont know how many layers were applied to this car...sorry... after that you follow up with the "candy" layer...which is what gives the basecoat its multi-dimension color... after candy...its just like anything else...clear coat a couple times...wetsand and buff...and your done |

Thanks for the info, it makes more sense to me now. Were there any metal flakes applied to the paint and if they were, do you know during which step?
