f&f eclipse (also)

Hey, this is some progress on my eclipse I've been working on for a little while now. I've been reading and reading all the wonderful help you guys offer, *tear* it's a wonderful thing..thanks for sharing your knowledge and helping my learning curve.

Now I'll post some body images as soon as I can. I'm painting the body a dark blue. Below is a pic of the interior...which was crap to begin with. I dremeled the back seats out, puttied up the shape of the speaker boxes, and flocked (mostly to cover extreme amounts of putty). I also used a lighter and a needle to make the holes for the power (sodder) and speaker wire (..um speaker wires) from the amp.

Sorry phone pics are bad, digicam pics up soon.

Great work! Really like the whole amp/ sub setup. I too use the lighter and needle trick for various wires(spark plugs, speakers) , I thought I was the only one!

here's what it's looking like so far. I know there are mistakes everywhere...but this is my first model in 8 years and my first since learning from many of you how it SHOULD be done..heheh

The body isn't set right on the car cause I just placed it there for the foto..and the wheels aren't attached yet either. So don't worry, it will at least look straight, semi-low and the camber on the wheels will be ok

quick questions though...should I use those decals that came with the kit? (light blue eagle looking things)

and...should I spray clear on top of the decals if I do use them? (how many coats)

I do the same thing. I think the car looks good, besides AMT's total wreck of an engine. Suggestion: Remove the chrome from the wheels and spray them white or black, that'll look cool under the blue car. No for the decals, blue on blue isn't a good thing. Use the decal for the hood though.

thanks for the feedback on the car...

here's a pic from the rear, just to give a glimpse of the tailight (which I'm proud of only because of the shear amount of ridiculous time it took to carve out the mitsu sign by hand).

where could I get a spoiler like that one in the pic...or what can I use as a base to make one? I hate the one that came with the kit

well i think you could bend a piece of styrene over then putty up and carefully cut in the separation lines where the rear boot lifts up, if you need more pics i got some.

good luck

Re: f&f eclipse (also)

If you have a revell ITR, it has one similar to that.
