I found a Shaker hood for a 96 and up mustang gt that is the same as the new mach 1!! would getting one for 750 dollers or so be worth it? does it add that much power? IF any one could explain about it it would be greatly appritated sry mispelled. all i really know is air is ram though the scoop and pushed into the intake mainfold. any info would be great ty everyone

the whole idea behind ram air is gathering colder air. colder air=dencer air=more o2=more explosion=more horsepower. I wouldn't imagine more then 10 hp increase. i love ram air, 750 is worth it to me.

Re: Shaker hood for 96 GT

I really doubt you'll see any increase in hp with a shaker hood. Granted they look killer, and are functional to a point. But the in coming air has to go through so many bends, turns, and reducers before it actually enters the stock air box, and from there it then enters the intake manifold.

you will still need an air filter and an airflow meter.
