RB26 head on an RB25 and other stuff....
Will an RB26 head fit on an RB25?
I'm asking cause I wanna do an RB25 swap into an s13 but I've heard the 26 head revs better... What about internals...? I know the 26 internals ie: crank, rods, pistons are stronger will they fit in the 25 (and how will the change specs like compression and displacement) or would it be cheaper and/or better to find some after market rods pistons for the 25. I plan on making 500 hp. Where could i get a hold of some after market internals for the 25? By the way my names Matt, I'm 20 and new to this forum... just trying to tap into this deep well of Nissan knowledge before i go and spend a shitload of money. Thanks in advance |

just build up the 25 head with some aftermarket valvetrain pieces, will rev better then a stock 26 head.

I dunno, I've never looked into building up a RB like that. You would most certainly have to look in Japan for those kind of parts. JUN, HKS, or Nismo would be a place to start. I would suggest getting some aftermarket cams, stronger lighter valve springs and retainers. The cams would help out the top end and make it rev quicker. The upgraded springs and retainers would allow for a higher redline.
check out takakaira.com for some parts, its sort of vague but I have no idea where to get parts for a RB. |

If you want a higher redline, then get those upgrades^
If you just want it to rev quicker then all you need is some lighter pullys and a lighter flywheel.

you can get 500hp out of a lighter engine. it would be more expensive but you would be quicker that way as long as you tune for a decent torque curve.
i'm thinking that for 500hp, you wouldn't need to upgrade internals on an RB. |

^you failed to mention that most likely the engine's reliability will suffer due to increased stress on a smaller displacement engine designed to take less abuse. RB25 or 26 is good if you want lots of power...I don't need lots though...
