There is no comparison, the Firebird would win by a long shot. Its not hard to find the infor your looking for. Just go to google and do a search.

Firebird is a pussy car unless it's a Firebird Formula. A Firebird is a shitty V6 though and the SHO is a 5.0L V8 -- the SHO would win if the Firebird is a V6... if it has an LT1, the SHO is screwed.

Hey jackass, there has never been a 5.0L in a Taurus. Want some proof? I'll leave a link down below. Regardless I would say the Pontiac would win.

Here's your link.

First of all where's your proof, don't go around saying stuff you can't prove. Call me what you want, you know you are just some little fake ass high school punk.

I have to agree, the big SHO isn't that fast. For a Taurus it is fast but has no chance against a Firebird.

THE REAL DEAL ON THIS COMPARISON!!

First of all, in the 0-60MPH test, don't bother. Firebird all the way.

The Taurus would catch up towards the end, but it's too big and heavy to
even think it can try a Firebird. The Pontiac's got him quarter mile no problem.
period.

As for the burnout, the SHO will take the numbers on that one. It's heavier
so it will stay put, and it doesn't have racing tires, so it's got these skinny
little push tires that will smoke like hell.

Hope that helps!

check edmunds.com for weights, according to the site the firebird is heavier and you must also remember both are automatics

If it is a V-8 bird, the SHO will not win 0-60, 1/4 mile, and it will NOT catch up at the end of a long run as long as the Firebird driver does'nt hit brakes. As for the v-8 SHO argument, when the newest body style Taurus came out, the SHO model was equipped with a 3.9l Yamaha designed and built v-8. It was however slower than the older Yamaha v-6 powered SHO's.

Well in that case, it should actually be fairly close. I'd put it on whoever leaves first.

Bird vs. SHO

I have a 1998 3.4 liter v8 SHO (the only displacement and cylinder bank available from 1996-1999). With 235 hp/235 lb. ft. torque, the car isn't that fast (0-60/7.2 sec). It's a Taurus. The stock v6 Firebird/Camaro (1995) has only 160 hp/200 lb. ft. torque, whereas the stock v6 SHO (1993) has 220 hp/200 lb. ft. torque. It is my personal opinion that the SHO would win. The SHO, although frontwheel drive, is lighter (150 lbs.) and has more hp/torque. The numbers don't lie.
