Finished: Pikes Peak White 350Z Track

Finally finished my Z, it took a while but got it finished. The onlything i need to do is to get another windshield since i broke my other one. I did a couple of mods on this one. I did a slant mounted intercooler (drifter style), custom front lip, and Volk Racing TE37 MAG 18in. rims painted gold. I didnt really do much on it. This was the first time for me doing a 2 tone interior, i did Flat Dark Grey with Flat Aluminum, i actually did a really good job on it and nothing is bad. Overall this kit was the easiest to build. I would give it a 8 out of 10. Tell me whut you guys think.

Wow good work! I was wondering when you were gonna finish this car! Looks nice! I only have one question and one suggestion. Where is the window? and imo you should add black trim around the window!

Good work!

Nice work Charles. I really like the rims the way it is, no extra trim rings.

Looks good, but you really should paint the window trim.

Re: Finished: Pikes Peak White 350Z Track

There's still a black area on the body around the window frames which needs to be painted especially on the side windows. This is what they are referring to.

And WTF @ "slanted drifter style" intercooler..... err... only purposely slanted intercoolers i've seen slant the opposite way to yours and this is because they couple a radiator on the opposite side - in "V" configuration...

other than that.. pretty nice

Overall very clean model. I also like the combination of pearl white and gold rims. The rims are perfectly suited to the car.

However, you asked to politely critique, so here is a couple of suggestions:

1. Painting the rubber moldings arouns the windows will make the model more realistic

2. Doing panel lines, perhaps in dark grey instead of black would bring the panels out a little, making it again, more realistic.

3. The intercooler could benefit from some thinned black paint flowed into the grooves to make it a little more stand out.

4. Also, may its the lighting, but your paint is really nice, but still needs to be buffed to a polished finish or at least have a couple of coats of gloss clear. It appears a little dull, especially on the trunk/roof/hood portion.... Now again it may be the photos, so if it is, please ignore.

Just my opinion, but I think if you do all that, the model will be a real stand out! As is, it is very eye pleasing.

It has no windows; technically it is INCOMPLETE!!! Just something to think about before you get mad the next time you present an unfinished model as finished.

Re: Finished: Pikes Peak White 350Z Track

its good so far but tonio is right its not finished. you need to do window trim. panel lines on a white car are also important. but as stated previously go with dark grey NOT black. The brakes need attention also, they look unpainted. you've done a good job so far, you just need to finish it!
