Distinctive Features

im look'n to buy a 90-92 GSX or TSI AWD but i can't seem to see distinctive features to tell if the car is a AWD Turbo one...is there ways to tell the difference between the GS and a GSX or do you have to pop the hood and look for a turbo, or sit in the car and see the stock boost gauge

Go to the back of the car and look under it, if it is an AWD you will see the differential. If its not AWD there will be nothing between the rear wheels.

There is none, except where it says gsx, or in the case of a talon, tsi awd, on the right side of the rear bumper. In some cases I've heard of dealers that fixed wrecks with a turbo bumper and neglected to tell people that bought them, but if you are that dumb then you deserve to be had.

Re: Distinctive Features

I know the TSI AWD cars had the bigger wheels. They came in silver or white and they are 17's.Also look for the sidemount intercooler. And if you know what to listen for you can hear the stock turbo spool up. But i know how annoying it is to call a dealer or a clueless person about the DSM they are selling and have no idea what model it is. I have had people even tell me the car had a v6 in it.

Re: Distinctive Features

My '92 GSX has a leather interior. I was told that all turbos were leather. The other seats are made of some cloth material. Also, mine has been painted but it had an AWD/ Turbo sticker on the body panel between the side windows.
