Cool Alarm Problem

I Have A 1996 Ford Taurus. I Have The Two Button Remote Control Entry Alarm. The Other Day I Entered The Car From The Passenger Side Front Door.

After Doing So The Alarm Acted Strange, Resulting In Popping The Trunk, Cycling The Automatic Door Locks And Beeping. I Pushed My Unlock Button On The Remote To Stop The Strange Behavoir (in Addition To Closing All Doors And Trunck), Then Pressed The Lock Button.

Now When I Press The Lock Button, The Alarm Doesn't Go On. THE Automatic Locks Still Lock, But The Alarm Does Not Go On.

Does Anyone Know How To Reset This?

Thank You A Bunch.

Is this a Ford alarm? If it is, it's made from CodeAlarm and the remotes are plagued with problems after being used for a while. You might want to use the other remote or take off the one you have been using and see how it works.

Sounds like a trip to the local alarm shop or dealer. The only thing I can think of for you to do is either unplug it or ground out the disarm wire so it doesn't rearm. FYI, usually when a alarm goes nuts like this, it is because of a loose ground going into the brain.
