hey alright i was just wondering,i might be buying a front clip soon. The prices have gone down and everything.

1. Were can i get a ca18det engine, or if possible front clip

2. Is the firewall bolted or welded into place.

5. If i buy a front clip would eveything be there to convert the car to rdh?

6. How hard would that be?

7. Anyone got a ca18det?

8. Would it be a better idea to just get a SR?

welp lol

on the RHD conversion, no.......

theres more interior pieces such as seats, doors, switches, that would have to be put on for it to be stock. Why would u want a RHD car in american anyway? its hard to drive and you get some bad blind spots, basically its a waiste of money and not safe. Merging into traffic and making right handers on red is a ROYAL PITA, so I have heard from GTR drivers. owning a GTR is a trade off though, id take one for RHD, about the only car I would own with the seat on the wrong side lol. Why take something good and make it bad...............

mailmen drive 3mph down a residential street

because of the side of the street we drive on, being on the other side changes your viewpoint and blind spots. It is a bitch driving that way. The only possible reason to do this would be to look cool in some people's mind. Think about it lol

Re: few questions.

1. Were can i get a ca18det engine, or if possible front clip
check the FAQ. there are many sites in there to order engines from. Also check out www.total-boost.com it's a new company. E-mail them for a quote on a CA18.

2. Is the firewall bolted or welded into place.
Welded

What the hell happened to #'s 3 and 4?

5. If i buy a front clip would eveything be there to convert the car to rdh?
Nope. Your going to need a lot of parts to convert to RHD. Most of the time the dash is not included with the clip. You may get the steering column, you may not. then there are countless other pieces that you will need as well.

6. How hard would that be?
Pretty hard

7. Anyone got a ca18det?
Not me

8. Would it be a better idea to just get a SR?
Not necessarily. I think it would be cool to see a built CA18.

this thread inspired me to look at a mail truck more closely when I saw one yesterday. If you notice they have a good 7-8 mirrors on all the corners every angle lol. its a pain in the ass to drive a RHD car in america because are roads are not meant for it. It can be done, nobody is disputing that fact. Other then owning a GTR or some other "jdm" contraption you can't get here(maybe like a S15 or GTiR) and HAVING to put up with RHD cause you love the car so much, there is really no need for it. There is no perfromance benefit, and it will only damper your skills on the street. This is a show car type mod that belongs with Scizzor doors and Hondas with chrome 20's.
