oil pressure sensor housing leak?
Whats going on? Ok, here it is, the housing that holds the pressure sensor and connects to the motor is pouring oil. Anyone ever run into this problem.
By the way, its an 98 gc, with straight 6. |

oil leak pedestal base
yes, I have a 93 GC. Developed oil leak. Drove us nuts. Finally found problem was not oil filter, but pedestal base that holds oil filter stud. This base has a gasket. Gasket is cheap, but the labor!!!!!!!!

I recently had an oil leak at the filter adapter housing also. Those gaskets just get old, lose their elasticity, and start leaking.
I just changed it this weekend. Took me about 3 hours. You will need the gasket kit from the dealership which includes 3 different size o-ring gaskets. If it's the same design as my 95 gc 4.0 liter, you will also need a T60 Torx bit. I got one from my local NAPA store and knocked the bit out of the socket that came with it so I had enough room to remove it without having to take the engine loose from the engine mounts. It also helps to remove the oil filter first so you have more room to manipulate. I did most of the work from the bottom. Good luck. |
