Question Hoods?

I wanna put a hood on my 88 LX but i don't want one that requires pins. Are there any aftermarket hoods that will fit? or is their a way i can re locate the pins so you can't see them as much?

Hood pins look so stupid. I hate them on any car. Never seen them look good on anything. I know for a fact you can get CF hoods with OEM latches on them. I know I've seen them before somewhere.

Re: Hoods?

My hood has a fiberglass skeleton, and a mounting for a stock latch, but at 160+ it fuggin' bounces around quite a bit. So, hood lock it was for me, I love them the hood doesn't move at all at any speeds, even when I'm getting into an accident.

Pins are ugly, but they're $20 insurance that your expensive hood isn't going to flap off and cause you greif in the future. They're more of a function over form type of thing than anything.

Just this past weekend I was at Target & there was a '92-95 coupe in the parking lot. It had hood pins with a stock hood.

So? your point?

Maybe the car was wrecked and the hood latch wouldn't line up properly? Maybe he got rid of the stock latch mechanism to save weight? Maybe he likes the convenience of not having to get inside the car to pop the hood? Maybe he likes the piece of mind knowing he can get locking hood pins so that no thief can simply break the window and pop the hood and steal things?

I am getting some for my stock hood, but not by choice. The skeleton creased, and I'm afraid it will unlatch while driving. I'm broke and a new hood is $$$, a new hood and windshield is $$$$$, and hod pins are $

So don't make fun of me.

I would be weary of CF/FG hoods w/o hood pins, I have heard of them releasing because the hood flexes when warm, or having the latch pull out.

Depends on the quality of the hood. I've driven cross-country (twice!) with my CF hood & no hood pins with zero problems.

No, the h/b hoods will not fit a sedan. The sedan hood is about 2" longer than the hatch's.

Re: Hoods?

Sorry, I missed the 4d part. On Honda-Tech I think they are working on a 4d CF hood group buy, IDK the details tho, so you will have to look it up.
