When i accelerate my 99 Explorer at low speeds and turn the wheel it makes this sound like something is scratching a metal plate. It is aggrivated when i turn in both directions. At first I thought it was the brakes but replaced them and still there. It stops or is unnoticeable when i go really fast and when i have the CD player full blast
but when i am at slow speeds and turning is when the grind occurs. Any ideas?

Same issues
I have just started noticing that I have the same problem in my 98 explorer sport. Glad to know it isn't my brakes but any input would help.
