94 Legend Motor Surges
My 94 Legend motor surges when warming up. If I start the motor it will fluctuate between 1000 and 1500 rpm until warm. A guy told me that it had air in the cooling system and I needed to bleed it somewhere by the thermostat. Can anyone give me some more details about this??????????????
Thanks Terry |

Re: 94 Legend Motor Surges
If you will open the hood and follow the top radiator hose back to engine you should see a valve that a 12 mm wrench will open.
!!!!!!!!!Do not open if the engine is hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! remove radiator cap when engine is cold and verify that level is full. If not slowly top off after you crack the bleeder valve open. You should see small air pockets as coolant is topped off. When it is topped off, leave the cap off and start the engine. (do not rev engine up. let it idle). as engine begins to warm up keep a close eye on the coolant temp and the water level in radiator. when system get to operating temp you should begin to see the coolant flow in the radiator. It may flow over and make a mess. Just don' t getin eyes. If the temp gage starts to rise very fast put cap on and stop engine as there is a bad air pocket in system. let system cool and try again. Please be careful as the coolant can burn you very badly if hot or boils. |
