Engine Swap: Stanza Sr20
Hey guys, dont really post much anymore because Ive found its hopeless to find a decently priced S13 that hasnt had the price jacked up from the SuperStreet Drifters. But luck may have found its way back to me. I recently found out my Grandfather-in-law(?) has a 89'? Nissan Stanza 5spdand its in good condition that was the first car I learned to drive standard and I called him up and asked him about buying it from him and he said I could have it. Now my question is how hard is to swap out the engine for a Sr20DET? I figured it would be just the same as a 240 considering its the same car and I believe Stanza's (or a model similar to the stanza uses the engine). So is this going to be more trouble than Im asking for or simple clean switch. Please any info would be appreciated.

thats totlally possible. just get an fwd sr20det (check www.flashoptions.com they have them). it shouldn't be any harder a swap than an sr20det into a 240sx. basaically your turning your stanza into a u12 bluebird (sorta). you should search around for info on u12 bluebirds too. i thought about doin this myself.

something really of topic, but my ex's key (sentra) can lock/unlock her sister's car (stanza) did nissan do that on purpose?
----------------------------------------- so you got 1500 laying around, thats how much the sr costs on that website http://www.flashoptions.com/product_...10&subcatID=19 |

good luck i have a 1990 stanza (i love it too much!) but to swap a SR20DET into it is way more expensive in then a SR swap in a 240.
i have a 240 W/SR and it is hella funer and cheaper. Trust me i did everything to that car from nitrous to custm headers. its expensive!! no parts for that car at all!!! ur better off swaping a cheap altima engine and modify it. KA's are just as good of an engine as SR's. i love my stanza, and what i did is not logical, i could just spend half of the money into a sentra and get the same power. consider your budget when such a bold project is at hand. email me if you have any question on the stanza..good luck! ps. Stanza are cheap might as well get a 1990 it looks way nicer. |

i'm sure you can do a turbo kit from www.realnissan.com . they have turbo kits for the ka24e. that might be alot cheaper than doing an sr20det in the stanza than. but where do you look for suspension parts?
