I think it's a little early to tell. But I'm probably gonna vote for myself anyways.

This poll is way to early, but if Dean gets the nomination he'll lose like Mondale did to Reagan back in 84. A politician cannot win an election by saying they're going to raise taxes. Even if they plan to do it, they won't win by saying that is their plan.

Yeah, Dean will have to carefully rethink his strategy on this one.

I think Dean can beat Bush, it's just a matter of who's going to get the better PR work done in the next year. Considering how well Dubya's has been going, I'm giving the edge to Dean on this one

What this comes down to is interest. No one has interest in voting for a guy who's going to raise taxes, cut military, expand social funding to ridiculous levels, and negotiate with terrorists.

Ok...

#1, Many people are interested in voting for Dean, he has more grassroots support than any other candidate... That's how he managed to come out of nowhere to lead the race for the democratic leadership... People who support him, not just corporations throwing money at his campaign.

#2, Many people are not extreme right wingers like yourself, and would like to see broader social funding, and don't see the point in spending 400+ billion a year on a military that is already the most powerful in the world, and by a considerable margin. These would be the same people who think it's complete bullshit that Bush is stomping around the Middle East in the name of fighting terror.

That brings me to my third point. Where the hell does the negotiating with terrorists come from? Or is this some fanatical right wing theory that if they Democrats get in power, they're going to have Osama over for tea?

Pick, nice post and cbass good retort. But I never heard dean would deal with terrorist.
Cbass, I think we spend to much $$$ on Welfare already, let alone give more out. Is that what you where trying to say.
Me I vote for Who the hell I want to. Not because I belong to some party and I vote down party lines with an empty head.
Right now, I guess i would vote for either Kerry or President Bush. If what Pick wrote is what Dean stands for, then No, I would not vote for him, nor consider him.

Dean is interested in making life better for lower income and middle class families, even if it hurts the profit margins of the larger corporations... This is what makes him an appealing candidate, and how he managed to appear out of nowhere in the leadership race, and excel in comparison to all of the other democratic candidates. If he doesn't win the nomination, it's going to be because the big democratic corporations don't want him to get in power.

The other democrats are interested in exactly the same thing as the republicans... Making the rich richer, and the poor poorer. It's what they do. Bush and his neo-conservative cronies are somewhat different in that not only do they want to make the rich richer and the poor poorer, they have an ideological and economical interest in invading middle eastern nations...

It's way too soon to put money on any candidate, but I'm leaning towards Dean at this point.

Uh, it's what they do, Yogi... It's almost all they do in peace time. They make the rich richer at the expense of everyone else, which has the effect of making the poor poorer. Do yuo really think those large corporations wouldn't jump at the chance of having a legal permanant underclass that they could use for cheap labour? This is why the borders are as porous as they are...

Re: Who's going to Win?

The incumbent president always has the advantage. He has the resources at his disposal to pull off massive publicity stunts, such as landing on a U.S Navy carrier,or briefly and furtively dropping into an occupied stronghold of the former capital of Iraq...
Can't imagine that any of the other candidates have the resources or the neccesary permissions to achieve such media coverage.

We should ask Bush's father how much those mean - and Al Gore for that matter.
