I have a 2000 Blazer. Every so often (approx every 2-3 months), I go to start the truck, and all the gauges are off or not working. The truck starts, but there is no Tach, Speedmeter, Gas gauge, the lights start dimming. Usually, all of the gauges work when the key if first turned to the on position (before starting), but nothing is working when this occurs. The only gauge that works is the voltmeter, and it slowly drops. The vehicle runs until there is no juice left in the battery. When the vehicle is jump started, all of a sudden, everything works again. It acts as if the truck "resets" itself after the jump. It acts like a computer problem and the computer resetting after loss of power
. I have had the blazer since it came from the factory in '99, but this problem just started about 8 months ago.Anyone else having the same problem or does someone know what the problem might be? Thanks. |

Re: 2000 Blazer - Electrical Problem?
I had the same thing happen once, with the gauges needles gauges buried, plus it was "stuck" in 4 wheel low. Nothing would get it to come out of 4 low. Pulling the negative battery cable for 5 minutes cleared everything up.
