The Stanford Prison Experiment

http://www.prisonexp.org/index.html

What an interesting read. Really makes you wonder. Say, for example, if AF was set up, with members as "prisoners" and moderators as "guards"...oh boy..what would that be like?

Quite a shock to see what people turned into with that, and then once they were told again it was an experiment, they just switched over back to normal like a lightbulb.

Thoughts?

Re: The Stanford Prison Experiment

That's weird that you just brought that up... I just watched the video on it in a class at school like 2 days ago.

STFU or I'll beat you up.

That was an interesting experiment,30 years later you can see it being repeated regularly on shows like 'Survivor'.The veneer of civilisation is very thin in places. As the famous Lord Acton quote goes, "Power tends to corrupt.Absolute power corrupts absolutely."

another interesting piece of psychological research was conducted by Stanley Milgram. You can find details here.
