Re: LS Conversion

I'd leave the head, just have it port and polished, get some cams, valve springs and retainers.

right now, after i hit 6000 rpm, i have nowhere near the power, the low end torque is great, but high end lacks what it should have with the power of Vtec, it doesn't seem like id get as much power from cams, and valves and all that as i would with vtec

look at it this way then a ls/vtec does not last long unless you plan on putting alot of money into it. would say do what jcrx told you to do and maybe go turbo or something try not to go with a ls/vtec combo they dont always work how you want them to do

completely wrong. ever known someone with an lsvtec combo who knew what they were doing? probably not. i had one and so do 4 of my friends. a couple of them have abused them like crazy and put over 50k on them with no problem. if you know what you are doing and have an understanding of why and how that frankenstein works then there isnt a problem with longevity. but if you want big hp numbers right away, go turbo.

p.s.
lstvec turbo is sick. a friend of mine is building a 2L lsvtec turbo that will put down over 600hp to the wheels

(people who think lsvtec sucks)

Re: LS Conversion

I've got a 92 VX hatch with a B18B1 with a GSR tranny, Kaaz limited slip, re-grind cams, Airmass 4-2-1 header, AEM CAI, NGK plugs, 2.25" exhaust with no cat. I haven't taken it to the track yet, but my buddy's got the same engine, minus header, LSD, he's got an LS tranny instead of a GSR tranny, and stock cams, and he ran a 15.2, so I'm hoping for high 14's next year.
