little help here
alright, im actualy thinking about buying a civic. I want a mid 90's hatch. I have one question. I am most likely going to swap in an engine and/or do some sort of head swap. What engine do most people swap in? I am looking to spend around 2500$ on the engine. I will put it in myself. I will get 2inch exhaust with highflow cat and import flowmaster muffler. Intake too. Just looking for some recommendations.
I have alot of knowledge of Fords, Nissans, and GMs but i always tended to stay away from the honda crew because of the Ricer reputation and the lack of power Also with 180hp and a 5speed how fast will a mid 90's (rectangle tail lites) run 0-60 and in the 1/4,

Re: little help here
That would be the 88-91 4th gen hatch so check out that site. Fords, Nissans, and GM's all suck ass! J/k GM. You need to do a lot of searching. Plus there is a difference from 180hp in a 1.6, say B16 (88-91 SiR) motor and a 180hp 1.8, say B18c1 (GSR) motor. Oh and a flowmaster is better left in the Domestic world.

Re: little help here
i herd the flowmaster on my friends civic and i like the way it sounded. oh i found out it is 5th gen, rounded rectangualr tails. Im trying to decide what to do now, its either a mustang 5.0 or a civic hatch.

Mustangs aren't anything special, yeah they're fast, but in the end, you still have a ford...my friend has a 94 hatch with a JDM GSR in it, and that think would rape the hell outta a mustang 5.0. so, you can either buy a mustang, and live with the fact that you own a domestic piece, or buy the hatch, get a better engine, and have a faster car than the mustang, and have a car that will last a hell of a lot longer

i just picked up an 89 5.0 hatch 5speed with a new 302 in it. Only 1000mi on rebuilt engine. I have enough to supercharge it which i can get installed for free. If i get a good deal on the supercharger im gonna buy a civic hatch to use when the mustang is down. Engines pass through my hands all the time so i'll most likely get a engine for the civic very cheap and i'll put it in by myself. So i'll have my week-end muscle car and my high performance daily driver.
i solved all my problems plus the front wheel drive will be a shit load better in the snow.I still have a few questions about the civic 1. What engine do you recommend i put in it, i could probaly get a head for cheap so take that into account. From what car does this engine come from and how much power does it have. How much does it cost? 2. How much should i pay for a 94 civic hatch with like 150k+ miles on it.

Re: little help here
b18b
depending on the condition.... roughtly 2500-3000. with 180hp, expect to be in 14s, maybe high 13. obviouly there are too many factors.

Re: little help here
I wouldn't pay more than $2000 for a B18b.
