Re: Hatchback?

Andrew... lookin at your mod list, you've got some nice stuff, but you might wanna think about going back to stock from the short throw shifter. The del Sol shifter is already the length of most car's short throws, and I've heard stories of the ones for sols specifically destroying transmissions over time. My synchros in my tranny are going, going, gone right now, and trust me... b16 trannys are HARD to find.

I actually installed the short throw shifter to fix a transmission problem. When at high revs during VTEC, my transmission would never go from second to third. It would just grind the crap out of the gears. Ever since i put in the short throw, the problem has gone away. I have to admit that it didn't really shorten the throw that much b/t 1st and 2nd or 4th and 5th but 3rd to fourth can now be done with a flick of the wrist. But you say that a short throw destroyed your tranni? I would definately like to hear more about that, cuz i know about how hard they are to come by esp. the hydro ones. (i need a new one as it is; case is cracked and temporarley fixed)
