Strange buzzing....
I noticed a shrill buzz coming from the area of my console on my 2003 Corolla S a couple of weeks ago. It came and went quite infrequently even with the car off. Tonight, the noise came and refused to go away!! I played with my radio/cd player, it stopped for a second. I turned the car off and on, it came right back! When I put the car into gear, it stopped, but came right back. When I turn to the left, the sound came back. An alarm system is not installed in the car. The sound is like a seatbelt buzzer that is dying, except the belts are clipped.

Hmm, thats odd. Do your signal sounds work right? If not, maybe that could be it. I doubt it though.

It was a digital kitchen timer that had slipped down in the front compartment and was under some envelopes out of sight!! Thanks for the reply anyway!!

a kitchen buzzer? damn. i was going to say that my 88 sr5 used to infrequently have a shrill buzz coming from the same area... for seemingly no reason at all. it would last for about 12 seconds.
maybe ill check to see if a kitchen timer fell down there
