Explorer or DUrango

I currently own a 1991 Ford Explorer, but was looking at purchasing a 1998 Dodge Durango. The only problem is I 'm not sure how the Durango handles in snow since I live in COlorado. I need it to be as effective or better. The Durango I am considering purchasing only has Rear Wheel ABS, as my Explorer has 4 Wheel ABS I beleieve. Could someone tell me if this would be a huge difference in the snow or not.

Thanks, Derek

Re: Explorer or DUrango

My experience is that 4 wheel ABS is more 'fool proof' for a variety of conditions. I know there have been arguements that when there is snow on the road that you can stop better without ABS because you build up a snow dam in front of the (non-rotating) tires. But the problem is that you have no steering. I have 4 wheel ABS and drive in in the snow and find it works find plus I can still steer the vehicle.
