new rims/ speedo question
hey,
im getting some 17' rims and i was wondering if i had to adjust my speedometer because of the bigger wheel radius. if i do is it DIY stuff or should i have honda do it?. thanx, jimi

The trick is to PLUS size the tires to match the diameter of the stock ones. Any good tire dealer can do this for you. NO-you cannot do anything with the speedo-it is not adjustable as such.

My Prelude has 17's with the stock diameter to keep the speedo the same. P205/40R17 If that'll help you at all. BUT it winds up being very low profile, and i have have to fix dents in my rims a few times from potholes(i live in BFE). If you are spending a lot on your rims, I would either get a warranty on them (if they do that), or screw the speedo and get bigger tires. you'd have a higher top speed :o)
