Contact the EPA about your injector problem

Please help yourself by contacting the Federal EPA about the SCPI type of injectors in your vehicle. California residents got an extension to their warranties. Here is an excerpt from the Air Resource Board bulletin:
1996 through 2001 model year light- and medium-duty SUVs, trucks and vans.
The trouble-prone Sequential Central Port Injector (SCPI) fuel system was installed on GM's popular SUVs, pickup trucks and vans with 4.3L, 5.0L, and 5.7 liter engines. The defective fuel injection systems cause GM owners to experience a "Service Engine Soon" light, misfires, rough idle, and hard start problems due to deposit build-up that cause poppet valves to stick and fail.
According to ARB data, the fuel injector failures were brought to GM's attention four years ago. At that time, an extension from the original three years/50,000 miles warranty to 10 years/100,000 miles for fuel injector cleaning was negotiated. ARB then negotiated with GM to expand the scope of the warranty to allow for total replacement of the fuel injection system rather than just cleaning and to increase the warranty period to 10 years/200,000 miles.
We all know that the other 49 states have the same problem.

Top 3 gasoline brands you use, and if you have had your injectors cleaned or replaced. The correct fix is to replace the entire fuel body including all injectors with a new style. I hope that enough people will spread the word that the EPA can build a case and we can get GM to do the right thing!

I have a 1999 Silverado 1500 w/a 4.3
At about 40.000 miles i had to replace the fuel regulator in my trucks' gas tank. Which cost aprox. $780 at the local dealer. Just recently I have had trouble with starting the engine and acceleration. I changed the plugs, air and fuel filters and oil. The truck drove well for 4 days and then the truck started running the same. I can only think that its the same unit in the tank going out. And now that I read this I am wondering if I can go to my local dealer and will they know about this extension on warranty. Please help ASAP. My truck is not running,

If you live in Calif you are currently covered. If not, get ready for BOHICA..... Bend Over Here It Comes Again. This is my point exactly. It is not the CA gasoline but the design of the injection system. Good Luck
