Squirrel damage to Sumitomo 1997 5Z-16 X-E

Briefly, I was changing my oil and I noticed a squirrel has lived under my hood. I have four wires (?) marked as noted in the subject line. Don't know if they are injectors or what?

Anyway one has a small nip in it from the squirrel.

Should I not drive it and get a new one ASAP? Or cover the nip with JB weld and be on my way?

And what is that (wire?) anyway? Can't find its description in my Haynes.

I live with a creek behind my house, yet I am in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Anyway, the Camry is outside all the time and yes, the hood insulation was peeled away, and I found a half eaten nut in the debris.

The reason I am concerned is I had a 1997 Camry that used to sit right there, and last year as I drove it, it suddenly caught fire. It was a total. There appeared to be no reason that it happened, and insurance paid off on the loss. I got this one in return.

So perhaps this is what happened to the last one.

Anyone know what the wire is?

Thumbs up Resolved

It was a spark plug wire. I have not had to work on this car and did not know.

So to protect it, I sliced a one inch piece of hose from end to end and covered the "nip", sealing it up with some gasket glue.

My only fears were moisture coming into it, and shorting or arching - possibly igniting gas vapors - so I am all good.

Thx.
