help

I have a 1991 celica gt with over 200,000 miles on it. I thought about buying a new car but I just really like the celica. What would be a good new engine to put into the car? Also the car is an automatic. Does anyone know how much it costs to change it to standard? I just wanna make it a lil faster cuz the car looks nice but it's just not that fast. Any tips would help me. Thanks.

a nice engine would be a 3s-gte.. you can find a lot of them arround... you can get second gen. 3s-gte for arround $1,500 - $2,500 depending on condition... if thats too pricy, you might want to get just the 3s-ge which is just the non turboed version

other than that i cant really help you with changing it into a standard.. i havent heard much about that...

im not really sure... i havent researched celicas that much, but i know a lot about mr2's 91 - 98 and i know that the earlier celicas and mr2's had the same engine so i THINK that it should fit in... it mich have been a later year celica but look it up... if it is the 3sfe, than it is the same engine also, just the sfe was in the earlier years
