Gotta do the n00b thing I guess

Hello all, I'm Andrew, and as you can see, I'm a Subie freak. I'm not the only one, we have a huge message board with about 1200 members (Our old board had like, 5000 or so, but not all have migrated to the new forum yet) if you're interested it's at http://usmb.ultimatesubaru.net/ sorry gotta evangelize the USMB :-P
Anyhoo, I live in Albany, Oregon, just south of Portland. I'm finishing up my Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology at Linn-Benton Community College, and I'm currently considering going to a 4 year school and getting a bachelors in automotive, just not quite sure where. Currently considering Weber State and Northern Montana. I may be a soob freak but I do know some stuff about other cars, I just got done rebuilding the transaxle in an 88 Mercury Sable... PITA that's all I have to say. Easy to rebuild, hard to get out of the car.
As you can probably tell by my name, I off-road a Subaru (Told you I was nuts!). I have an 82 GL sedan, which at one time as a 2WD automatic. After I tired of the gutless automatic, I converted it to a manual 5 speed (2WD). Later, when I had no luck selling the car, I decided to convert it to 4WD using the parts from my 84 wagon which was mainly rust with a few molecules of paint holding it together, so now I have something that never came from the factory, a 4WD sedan with a manual (They did make a 4WD sedan starting in 84, but only wiht an automatic. Manuals were not available in the sedan 4WD until 85) and it's soon to get a 4 inch lift kit and some redrilled Toyota wheels, with some 29.5 swampers :-) If you want to see some pics of off-road subarus in action, check out www.oregonoffroadsubaruclub.com or www.hatchpatrol.com both local clubs (Oregon Off-road being based in Eugene, Oregon, and The Hatch Patrol being based in Seattle)
My other interests are computers and electronics, and of course like a good car freak, I also enjoy competitive motorsports (SCCA RallyCross being one of them) and stuff like that.
