Thumbs down Auto Transmission

I have a 95 corolla base model 1.6 Litre auto transmission. When i start the car and shift the gear from Park to R(Reverse) or Park to D(Drive) there is a lot of knocking sound. Also when I start driving there is slippage when gear changes... Basically it requires giving a lot of gas to change from lower to a higher gear.... But after a while of driving this problem does not happen.

I checked the auto trans fluid and it looks clear but the level is beyond the hot mark on the dipstick even after I had parked the car for more than 5 hours.. I do not know whether it needs a new transmission fluid or the transmission is gone bad. It has been more than 2 years and almost 20000 miles before I have changed the trans fluid.

I appreciate Your comments/suggestions/advice

thanks

Jacoban

Re: Auto Transmission

Sounds like you're due up for a filter and flush. I have the exact same symptoms, and I'm going to do that after payday. I'll keep ya posted.
