Strange Question....

Here's a unique series of questions. It's just a thought, but...
What does everyone think it would take, to put a SR20det (Skyline motor) into a 94 Accord? I know everything is possible with enough money...I'm just wondering if anyone could give me an idea of what kind of work would be involved.
I'm interested because, one of my race team members has a 94 Accord Ex. I happen to know where I can get an SR20 for $1700. On top of that, the motor comes with:
Transmission
Complete Wiring Harness
ECU
Engine Mounts
Distributor
Intake Manifold
Alternator
Power Steering Pump

I was thinking, all the power you can get from an SR20...in a Honda Accord... Sounds like fun!

I maybe crazy , but I'm also curious. let me know what y'all think.

Re: Strange Question....

I'm sure if you look hard enough you could find a H22 for that price. Or if you really want to use the SR20 put it in a Nissan. Don't ruin a Honda with a Nissan motor, besides it would be more of a hassle than it's worth.

i agree with 91hatch, if youre going to buy a nissan engine, put it in a nissan, maybe you can get the sr, and trade it for a h22 and some extra $

sr20 motors don't come in skylines. They come in the sentra se-r's and 240sx's and some other nissans.

Re: Strange Question....

Yeah the rb26dett Twin Turbo. Hybrid doesn't mean cross breading.

Re: Strange Question....

Yeah, I heard earlier today that an SR is a Silvia motor, which is the same thing as a 240 I believe. So an H22? could get one for somewhere are $2200. What about an F20b? Its the Accord SiR motor, so it should just slap right in (after changing the motor mounts). I could get my hands on one for $2800, before shipping. 1.9L DOHC VTEC, 200hp at 7200rpm. Compression ratio of 11.0:1. Forge the internals and slap a T3/T4 hybrid turbo on.... Should be happy with the results, right?

although the f20b is quite a motor, all it reall is, is a destroked h22

and if you're gonna go with turbo, go with the h22. the turbo will love the extra displacement.

if you plan on slapping a turbo on that, i sure hope you plan to either lower the compression ratio or plan on lowering the amount of boost you put on the engine. also, what honda engine are you talking about that is 1.9L?
