SR20 in my town

yea so last night I'm hangin out with some friends and I see this guy in this 240 pull up, looked like a ricer at first cuz it had a HUGE freaking wing on the back and I giant exhaust as well, we decided to go talk to him and when we got closer I noticed that the whole car had been I think spray painted grey, cuz their was paint all along the edge of the windows and everything, looked trashy, then I noticed it has a front bumper of a body kit that was hanging half off on one side, by then I wasn't sure what to think so he finally came back outside from the gas station and we had him pop the hood and first thing I see is a big red block(I had to throw away my pants when I got home, guess I got too excited) and man it was clean, he had upgraded the turbo, electric fan, no heater or a/c, I don't even know what all was goin on in there but I was deffinately jealous at that point.
Never thought I'd see an SR in my small town of topeka, ks... the wierdest thing of all, he was cruising along with some guy with a 2-door 93 honda civic with a huge wing, which also looked nice and ricer and the same type of paint job as the 240, found out it had a vtec engine in it

a 240 with an SR and a civic with a vtec cruisin down the road together... strange if you ask me

well civic's with vtec engine isn't all that great, i wouldn't piss in my pants. I see a lot of Civic EX's around and Si's, maybe if it was turboed or something but it still wouldn't be all that great. Also SR20's rn't all that great, I guess i live in a pretty rich town b/c I see NSX's, Twin Turboed Carreras, my cousin saw a skyline GT-R 33 here, my friend put in an RB25 in his 240sx, see M5's around, RX-8's, 350z's are starting to pop up everywhere, and one thing I hate about McLean (city like 20 minutes away from me) are that 40% of the cars seem like they're BMW's. See so many damn 323's, the same black BMW. See some nice 745IL's and M3s/5's time to time, but mainly only 323's.

no it happens a lot. imports are imports. usually if you like 240's, you'll like hondas, but there are quite a few nissan guys who are hardcore and don't even consider a honda a real car.

i don't like hondas, but i try to respect them. well, if my friend has one..... if i'm racing one it's ALL DISSN

where the hell have you been? i've had the max for almost a month and a half now.

z just sold last nite on ebay. 240 sold about 4 months ago....

i got it because its a nice car, and way faster than my 240. when you get a chance check one out. it'll do until i have enough money for an rb25 swap..... actually i have enough but i need to become a lil more financially stable before i get one. in about a year i should be ready for an rb26 swap. oooooooooooooooooooooooo

Hey, why did you sell your 300zx? Didn't you just get that thing freshly painted? How much did you get for it? I remember you talking all big about all the stuff you were going to do with the 300.

yeh i actualy sold my computer so i could afford a turbo kit. So im just getting back on because my dad gave me his old computer. I remember you selling the 240SX, i was trying to get my friend to buy it. The alty i remember, and the Z. I saw it on ebay and i was like wtf? So i came back here to find out what was going on. And to keep everyone up to date with what i've been up to- bought used turbo kit (NEVER buy a used turbo kit!!!) massivly dented silvia conversion, unpainted type X wing and other stupid stuff that i regret buying. Basicly im afraid to drive it because i fear the engines going to blow. It smells like puke inside (well, because my brother threw up in it) and it looks like crap. My brother is going to buy it for 2500$. Im most likely going to buy a Mustang 5.0, lt1 trans am or a 240Z with a sbc. I've come to realize i dont need to have a car with incredible handling, 99% of my driving is in a straight line. I just want something cheap, decent reliability and i can get replacement/performance parts for dirt cheap. And most of all i dont want to deal with aftermarket forced induction. I received a brothers performance catalog and all those parts are so cheap compared to everything for the 240. Dont get me wrong though, i'd love to get a 1989 Silvia w/ ca18det and a 5speed with low miles but thats just not going to happen. But until i move to new zealand i guess im gonna be like 1 out of every 4 sports car drivers i see, and drive a mustang.

how much power does a rb26 have? Are you gonna do anything else to the car?

well in my town you don't see much, you see some integras with kits and exhaust and maybe a few engine mods, then a few hondas with a muffler and altezzas, pretty lame and ricer for the most part, everything else is DSM like camaros, mustangs, etc. although there are two MKIV Supras in town, one stock driven by an old lady, the other looks like it belongs in a magazine, so yea its not normal to see around here

maxima's r nice cars, my parents own the exact same one as urs mynismo, they would've given it to me but I like the 240 much more, RWD and much better handling. Maxima's handling sux, it tilts too much.
