96 (or so) 328is performance
I'm looking to get a 328is, probably a 96. I've been a rice rocket pilot since I got my license and I'm not up on beefing up German straight 6's. What are the best ways to get more reliable horsepower and torque out of these cars? If you could, steer me in the direction of what manufactures are good for parts too.

Re: 96 (or so) 328is performance
How much hp does a 328is E36 have? In Europe it's called 328i and have 193 hp...
It's seems some European models differ from the US ones... Here the E36 M3 has 321 hp but I've heard some M3 E36 sold in the US has 240 hp? |

A 328 has 191 HP and 207 tq. Many people confuse the 328is and 328i for the same. They are the same in the US as in Europe except that the 328is is a 2 door and the 328i is a four door. There is another difference but that is wether it comes with a sport package or not. The hp diffeence comes into play because of the strict emissions laws in the US.

Sorry, forgot to mention that performance for a BMW is not very cheap.
I would have to say: M3 cams or Schrick (not sure on how good & reliable) Lightweight pulleys Shark Injector a real CAI a good differencial with LSD I think that should do for what you are explaining (slight performance), but will also throw you back maybe a good 2-3 G's. |

Alright. Thanks a lot. Yeah, I expected the prices to be a lot different than Jap cars.
