Cool I had a nice 3 course meal tonight

Went down to the local fast food joint for the car rally again, this time I set up 3 races. The apetizer-a Toyota Paseo, I wanted to race him because he had rims and a huge metal wing (pure rice) and I ate him by 2 cars all the way down the street. Then there was this cavalier newer model 99-03 and he has neons and all this rice crap all over his car (those are my favorite to race) so we raced and he tasted pretty good once I got done eatin him all up, then the main course 3rd gen Eclipse vs. CRX HF with a D15B2 and a slipping clutch. I knew I was done for. But I just wanted to see how far I would be behind. I couldn't pull outta the hole for anything because of my clutch, but once it caught, I just scarfed him down just like the others! I had him by a car and a half by the time we finished, and started pulling even harder on him in 4th gear! Wow was I surprized! I was the man of the night there =P I'm just really surprized at the performance I got outta my little rex. Anyone selling a NOS kit?

Re: I had a nice 3 course meal tonight

Nice! It's always fun to destroy someone like that! On a related note, I was talking to a guy the other day who has some mustang or camaro or something with a built up monster block and some buncha stuff that all the domestic muscle car types talk about, just listening mostly, when he starts telling me about how much he hates guys in Hondas, and how he got beat down by some kid in a CRX who had less than $2000 in mods against his muscle car with $12-15 grand invested! I just chuckled to myself!

I say, let the games begin!!

This is what I got done-it's an HF body with DX tranny, and D15B2, Headers, no cat, 2 1/4 all the way back, Intake, bigger intake manifold (guy told me it was off a prelude) zc injectors, and zc computer, and Si Cam. Dude, I wasn't even power shifting, those guys didn't suck, I never heard them miss a gear at all or anything, and most of them had me out the hole. Everyone came up to me after and asked me if I was spraying. Which I took as a complement When I told them what I had they wouldn't believe me till I popped the hood. Why would I make up all that bullshit just to make myself sound better or something? Nope sorry. I've got about 30 people that will vouch for me thank you.

I don't know what kind of Prelude the intake manifold could have come off... I don't think they ever came with D series... A20 (?), B20, F22, H22, H23, etc...

The intake manifold was put on separately, it didn't come with the motor, and it's a D15B2 i can clearly see the it on the block-you want a pic !?

The guy that sold you the intake manifold lied. There is no Prelude manifold that could go on a D15 motor. You could have one from a DOHC ZC or a 1G teg, they are much larger, or you could have one from a newer civic, like the Z6 or Y8, which offer better flow too... But ixnay on the prelude manifold. Now, if it was just the throttle body, it's a different story... I have a friend who used a prelude throttle body, it took some work, but was huge compared to the tiny one on his A6 motor. Sorry to burst your bubble...

no bubble burst here, i don't care, that's just what the guy told me, all i know is that my old hf intake was about as big as a mc donalds straw, and now it's easily adapts a 3" cai i'll throw some pics of my engine later on so maybe you can see what is off of thx for the info, it's good to know when ur lied too

Re: I had a nice 3 course meal tonight

Yeah, put up some pics. How much gain did you see from putting in that Si cam? I have never driven a D15 with one in it... You should go for an Si trans too, if you get the chance, that will make a HUGE difference in your out-of-the-hole performance!

i didn't think there was any difference in the si tranny and the dx tranny except for the last gear...and also my out the hole perfomance is awesome. when i first put the cam in it actually seemed as if the timing was retarded a bit, like my car would take a lot more to move outta first gear, i was askin if i had to advance the timing when i put it in, but i did anyway and now it picks up like hell in the higher rpms, like i said ppl thought i was sprayin when i was racing it...got a quick question, which motor is the sohc vtec?
