Make it sound good

hey

whats the best way to give my car that loud bass thumping? I want it to be loud and noticable, but not obnoxious. I dont need anything to extravagant, and since Im a student with a limited income (ha ha), Im not looking to shell out loads of money. I know nothing about stereos and boxes and such, so any websites or anything would be helpful

thanks a bunch

Rachael

to be loud and noticable, you're probably going to have to spend decent money. I had estimated my system at costing me around $800 with two Kicker CVR 12s. I'm now going with Kicker amps too so that I know I have something reliable, so thats extra money. Then a capacitor and battery, plus the fact that I spend $115 on my main power and ground wires (1/0 gauge). It cost more than I'd realized. How much bump are you actually looking for? A setup of 2 10s might do it, but you might be looking for 12s or maybe 15s. It depends on the person I guess.

Re: Make it sound good

You can pick up a 12 ed sub for about 270, port it, about 170 less or more, depending. You can get an amp for that that will be loud and noticeable for anywhere from 150 to 400, 150 being the worst sounding one.

http://www.originalcustoms.com/ I talked to they guy and asked for an 3/4" mdf ported box to my specs (ed has a good set of blueprints on their site) and he said 100 and probably 130 shipped.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=18796 165, bridged and wired in series on the sub and you should get a good 800 watts(powerful RMS). http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=32808 wiring kit about 24 shipped. good kit, I have it.
