Question Looking for Tire Advice

Hi all

Got a 2001 Double cab with 265/70/16 BFG Rugged Trail T/A that need replacing. Can I go to a 285/75/16 without a lift kit? Anyone here do that?

Also, who makes a good tire? I do about 80% street, 20% off road, but am looking for a more aggrssive tread than the Rugged Trail

Thanks in advance

Absolutely mount up some BFG all-terrains. They handle great on the street and can take a real beating off road. You can't beat the price/value and quality.
I have had 9 sets of varying sizes (MT's and AT's) on three different Toyota trucks from 1989 to today for a total of over 350,000 miles. My DC will get AT's in the 265 range when the time comes.

I would say they would rub off road but not on the street. I would adj. the front suspension up to the max position that will still allow reasonable alignment. A shackle at the rear will return the rear slightly higher ride height.
