Question

I have a question. Why would you need a rear fog light?

Sorry but this sounds like one of the most moronic things I've heard of. If you atleast wanted for better visibility I'd respect that.

You can't use your existing taillight wiring as it's not the voltage that you need for high powered fogs. You need to run new wires just like the fronts.

i also imagine its against the law seeing how it would fool drivers behind you into thinking a car was coming at them or going in reverse. heres a tip, try thinking about road safety for once instead of being the next trend setter for the riceboys. you might live longer and look like less of a fool to your peers.

ok. i seem to have not explained myself cleary. if you have ever been behind a mercedes benz or volvo that looks like one of it's tailights is burned out, it's not, that is a rear fog light. it is in the red part of the the tailights. they wouldnt be clear they would be red.

Ok I think atleast ONE of us is confused here.

Hmm ok a fog light, is a light mounted below the headlights. It is usually of much brighter intensity and different color than the headlights to allow for greater visibility thru dense fog. Hence FOGlight. There are no foglights on the back of the car because you really don't need to see behind you thru fog. What it sounds like your talking about are the "altezza" style taillights that are stock on various lexus's and commonly ripped off by many other cars. They're the red taillights with the chrome surrounding. They can bought anywhere.

And if this isn't it, then maybe you're talking about LED taillights that light up much brighter than lightbulbs. They are common on the more expensive cars and usually involve alot of custom work to do something similar on a civic.

Are you talking about maybe an auxilairy taillight? It lights up with a swicth or something to provide greater visibility for the ppl who couldn't see you in fog or something??? Help me out here.

No rice-rocketeer he is right there is such thing as a rear fog light I had a volvo s40 and it was on there. How ever there isnt any room to instal it in the factory tail lights the civic gives you. Maybe if he modified some aletzzas or something he could get it in, but besides that I wanna see what he does.

Besides "looking cool," what is this foglight thing supposed to do and how would someone benefit from having it? I mean, if it's stock on a Volvo, it must have a purpose. Safety?

In those markets/countries in which this is available/ok, one of the reverse lights (or another available clear lensed light) is changed into a "fog light." Take a look at any R34 and you will see it right away. I'd like to see a Civic equipped with this...

Anyway... maybe this might help?
Install a Rear Fog Lamp
