Angry '93 Civic with 2.2 Prelude V-tech

I let someone drive my drag civic the other day, and when they shifted third, two of the titanium valves broke and damaged the sleeves in the cylinders and piston # 1. Do you think he mis-shifted as the engine is fully built, and supposed to take a lot of harassment? Or do you think the valve job was done badly? We haven't used the nitrous yet since the car arrived from Miami, and even in Miami, the nitrous was only used about four times?? Anyway, any comments would be appreciated as I can't believe the engine was damaged so soon. The engine was fully built so it is a real let down for this to happen as the car has $34,000 invested in it already, and now the damage is going to cost another $3,000 after everything is fixed. The RPM gauge stuck at 9000.

Thanks
Mike

What??

What are you talking about? My engine is fully done pushing 11.5 high compression pistons, rods, adjustable cams, MSD 6AL, bigger injectors, AFC, port and polished head, valve job, and a lot more. The engine is at least 250hp with the vtec kicking in at 4900 rpm. We have another civic just like mine but a little lighter running the same times??!!

Maybe he had $34k in the entire car...cage, dash, etc. Maybe that includes a standalone and tuning. Or something.

Or maybe it's bullshit. *shrug*

so your saying you bought the car for like $10 grand at the most, then invested another $34000 in it? Why don't you just buy yourself a nicer car that's way over 240hp?
I'd also like to see your list of mods.

You guys have a lot to say. What do you drive?

Actually, the civic has about 250hp without nitrous and as we run 150 shot see if you can add it up. Why don't you inquire about building a race car before passing judgement on price as it is very expensive. There was a remark that I should have just bought a nicer car that came with more than 250hp. I did. I have a Subaru Impreza Sti pumping 330hp. I actually spent $7,000 buying the car with engine, ecu, gearbox, and engine mounts, and then spent $27,000 building the car to race. Spy54, the only retard I see is the one who can't even spell proud!! "Soon to be a pround owner of a CRX" Woopty doo!! Your smart!!

You ain't that much better in spelling VTEC as VTECH either.

I'm not saying that the original post was BS, but the flaming is not tolerated here, that goes for all of you, not just apollocreed, as it is obvious that he didn't start it.
