compression ratio?

Everyone is saying an Ls integra is the best to turbo b/c of the lower compression ratio....how does that work? I dont understand what compression ratio really is..and please explain also why one is better for a turbo and the other is not..thanks this will help alot.

compression ratio is how much the pistons compress the fuel and air when they come to TDC "top dead center" the higher the comp the more power, with a forced induction set up the turbo or supercharger effectivley increases the compression. in racing applicatoins you typically go with low compression 7 or 8 to 1 comp and crank the boost way up, street applications we have found that you are better to go alittle higher and run less boost.
