Anyone know where I can find brake pad reviews?

I was in a hurry to get the brakes done (everything was about to close) and ended up fitting Silverline DB1247STD and DB1165STD Pads to the T4. Anyone know of a site containing pad reviews?

I was in the same situation after the DE (driver's education) event at our convention this year. I fried a set of pads and was desparate since I was about 1,500 miles (what?, about 2,500 km?) from home. I hate them. They suck dead bears through a garden hose.

What are you looking for in a pad?

I'm just trying to get an idea what to expect from them when I go back to Pukekohe next year. If I can find out (from a review) how they are likely to perform once bedded properly, I can decide whether to keep them or change them. Otherwise I'll just have to make sure I do some testing well before the next event.

Just looking for a good street pad for now. They're already on the car and I got the discs skimmed since they still had plenty left on them. The discs were quite tapered on the front. My brake man said the Silverlines had a low metallic content and are quite easy on disc wear. I used to do the brakes myself but, for NZ$240 for skimming and new pads fitted all round, it's hardly worth the hassle.

After they were fitted, I did 3 consecutive 100 - 0 km/h stops with the ABS pulsing - everything was just as with OEM. The 4th stop revealed much more pedal effort and travel to get on the ABS. After letting them cool down again (1/2 hour) I tried a couple more stops and they were good again. Not sure if they were fading from temperature/friction co-efficient or from gassing because they were new. The fade was a sudden change between the 3rd and 4th stop.

Temperature/friction fade I can live with, but gas fade scares me.
Last thing I want is a surprise gas fade on Pukekohe's back straight at 180+ km/h!!! It ends in a hairpin with not much runoff (yes I do give my brakes a quick test about 300m from my braking point).

I intended to get some OEM pads but it was 4:30 on Friday and they were squealing on the wear pins and the wife was squealing just as loud about noisy brakes and the sun was in my eyes and ........... should've put up with the squealing and waited till Monday for the OEMs. Oh well, they're not expensive to replace with OEMs. :o
