unfortunately, there are a few parts of the exhaust in these passats
that fail, and are not made (to my knowledge) by any 3rd party,
and because they all fail, they are very hard to find at yards.

one example is an accordian pipe coming off the manifold..
fails at a certain point in time and is only available from vw.

and very pricey at that.

just a fact of life with the early 90's passats.

Most competent exhaust shops can bend something to fit.

Re: 1993 passat exhaust pipe

if the part that I'm thinking of, it cannot be bent as the engine torques, the pipe must flex with the engine.

as I said, it's a bear of a part and not sold by any 3rd
party that I know of.

I checked with a few different exhaust shops, a friend who owns a regular shop and another mechanic friend, in addition to doing searches myself.

all that said, the originator of this thread *may* be speaking of a different part which very well may be
able to be made out of standard stock.
