Yes. Just like the 2.0 in mitsubishi cars is a Chrysler engine. They have been sharing parts and plat forms for years. Actually the rumor is as of 2006 the SRT-4 and EVO will share same platform. With slite differences. Like the 3000gt and stealth.

Re: A question

Doesn't Daimler-Chrysler own a share of Mitshubishi?

Yeah. IIRC, DC owns 50% of the voting stock.

I don't know about "getting help" necessarily. Since Dodge has access to some of the best OEM turbos (Mitsu) out there, it makes sense to us them.

It's not like Mitsu designed the engine, they just supplied the turbo.

Personally, i've always believed that the partnership between DC and Mitsu has produced some of the best cars on the US market, IMO. The Talon/Laser/Eclipse, the Stealth/3000GT, and the Stratus Coupe/Eclipse, to name the most prominent. Mitsubishi and DC have a very lucrative partnership, are very open with each other's parts, and being my two favorite brands helps my opinion of them immensely also.

Re: A question

I've always believed in sharing the technologies.
Because no one automaker can have all the best ones. But when they SHARE, thats how good cars, becomes better.
Like GM works closely with both Honda and Toyota.
Mercedes used to supply auto transmission to Jaguar.
