Re: electric supercharger that is no joke!
tell me your reasoning so i can reply. this is one of the best products that i have seen come onto the market in a while. i have been building import cars for close to 10 years, my shop specalizes in full race engines, custom turbo and supercharger kits, tuning etc... i have done my homework on this product and it is very nice. granted, it is a niche based produce, it is not for everyone. i have known Geoff Knight of Knight turbos for afew years now and he is sharp. he knows his shit and has put his all into this product, drop him aline or a call to find out more or ask me specific questions not just "sorry they're bullshit" that is too general and easy.

Updated link...
http://boosthead.com/product.php -- enter any valide make/model Downside... "A SPDT switch bypasses your alternator while the ESC 400 is running, eliminating all parasitic loss." The driver would have to flick a switch before hitting the accelerator and flick the switch again to start recharging the batteries. "or another 15-second burst of sheer power." How long does it take the batteries to recharge? What is the lifetime expectency of these batteries? Turbocharger systems are on-demand -- no need to upgrade alternator or electrical system, no need to wait for recharge, no need to flick any switches. ---------------------------------------------------- Thomas Knight is proud to unleash the revolutionary ESC-400 Electric Supercharger This is not that POS bilge pump fan you've seen on eBay that barely pushes 1 PSI. This is not a leaf blower. Our product works. This is real technology. From a real company. Pushing real power. Our patent-pending ESC-Series Electric Supercharger™ technology shocks the competition with up to 20 PSI of instant boost. Yes, we said 20 PSI. In 3/10 of a second. With zero parasitic loss. Can your leaf-blower add 75+ HP with the push of a button? We didn't think so. But if this isn't a gimmick, how did we accomplish the impossible? Simple. We're very good at what we do. The ESC-400™ features a powerful twin-rotor core and CNC 60-16 T6 aluminum billet, but unlike conventional roots-type superchargers, it isn't belt-driven. And unlike the hundreds of failed designs before it, the ESC-400™ doesn't suck current straight from your alternator. Both would reduce your system's efficiency when you need it most. By Thomas Knight standards, that's unacceptable. Instead, the ESC-400's custom-wound 18HP electric drive system is powered by an independent, renewable source: ultra-lightweight MIL-SPEC racing batteries. The kind specifically designed for hardcore use and lightning-fast recharge. Think of these as your Nitrous tanks, adding 15,000 watts of boost without the $1,000 to $10,000 a year in refills (do the math: our customers with Nitrous go through 1-4 bottles/week, and at $30 to $45 per bottle, that's from $1560 to $9360 a year ). Instead, these bad boys recharge for free. A SPDT switch bypasses your alternator while the ESC 400 is running, eliminating all parasitic loss. And remember, because this is a simple electrical system, your recharge options are limited only by your imagination and technical ability. In the most basic setup, you can charge off your stock alternator when the ESC 400 is not running (recharge in 4-8 minutes), but we recommend installing a high-capacity alternator like those used in advanced stereo systems (recharge 1-2 minutes). So while you're waiting in the staging lanes or cruising along the strip, you can hurl insults at the Nitrous guys while your system preps for another 15-second burst of sheer power. That's more than enough time to run the quarter mile or remind that high school kid with the neon muffler bearings who his daddy is. I told you we were good. It's what you've come to expect from Thomas Knight. After all, we've been designing custom kits for high-speed boostheads since 1976. Next, if properly installed the theory is sound. But to get the battery power to spin something fast enough to create 20psi? Nope. Batteries don't yet exist. An 18hp motor draws a LOT of current. How large are these batteries? The weight of them alone probably cancels out any HP gain. Now the laughable part of the advertising: * Provide you with a new, or at our option, a refurbished unit. --probably ALWAYS a refurbished unit (see warranty info below) ![]() ultra-lightweight MIL-SPEC racing batteries. -- I wasn't aware the military was into racing! How else would the military get MIL SPEC racing batteries?? ![]() ![]() Warranty: Electrical components are not covered. -- it's a shame, really....the MIL SPEC batteries that are so super....NOT covered! ![]() ![]() ![]() Warranty also says the following are NOT covered: * Damage resulting from poorly or improperly installed components -- I imagine that they will say that EVERY unit is poorly installed! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() * Damage from misuse or neglect (such as motors burnt by excessive running time or overvoltage) --- Excessive running time? What, they don't want you to use it too much, when in other parts of the ad they say you can laugh at the NOS guys? Please. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() * Batteries -- There's that super MIL SPEC battery again...wups, not covered! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() (Note they even mentioned the batteries twice!)* Electrical components --isn't the MIL SPEC battery an electrical component?? * Products which have been modified or incorporated into other products --when you install it, isn't it incorporated into another product, namely your CAR? * Previously-owned products --OH, so I guess the refurbished unit that you supplied me at your discretion ISN'T COVERED since it's previously owned. Oh yeah, and: Includes Blower only. [what about the MIL SPEC batteries? They're not included?? Dayum.] If someone can provide evidence that this system works as advertised, great. But I would stay away just from the advertising BS alone. Oh, BTW the link doesn't work so it was probably a scam. Hope they didn't "suck" you into "blowing" your money, TEAM KLR.
