New to Forum

Well just sayin hi to a new forum. Also wanted to ask a few questions. I'm new to the 4th gen civics, but I've owned 1st gen integras and rebuilt and raced them for a while. My question is, I bought this civic with a B16A swap and everything else (you can see pictures in the roll call post).. but the car seems to push pretty well going into a medium/low speed turn. I account this to the heavier B16 engine sitting upfront. I have 450lb springs up front and 350lb springs in the rear. Upper Front and Rear Strut Bars (and you can see from my other post I'm trying to figure out how to get the Lower Front and Rear Tie Bars on) Coilovers, Tokico Blues. That's all the suspension work.. but I guess i'm asking do any of you know how to get the car to stop pushing through the corners with the heavier engine up front or is this something I'm going to have to live with ?

Thanks.

Welcome to AF!

Add/upgrade the rear sway bar! The rear sway is by far the most important bar you can add or upgrade on a front wheel drive car.

HI! Welcome to the board.

I agree with Jackasssi, you're gonna want to upgrade that rear sway bar! If you have a DX, you don't have any, and you need the rear lower control arms to attach a sway bar at all. Then, you can toss on a larger one, the easiest being from any 90+ integra... I also noticed a large difference when I put on my rear lower strut support. It helped to make the car feel shorter, almost like the rear was about to slide out sometimes.

Re: New to Forum

You do not need special rear LCA's if you go with the Suspension Tech. sway - its also adjustable!!!!! The rear of my car sits lower with the sway set on the stiffest setting due to decreased suspension travel & there is a difference when it comes to handling with the different adjustmments.

Thats the reason your car seems to dig forward when cornering, you have no rear sway. The added weight of the motor really isn't much of an issue with a decent suspension.

ah alright thanks.. but I've used an ADDCO rear sway on my teg and I loved the what it mounted. Then again the teg had a solid beam rear axle to mount it on too. Is there a particular rear sway you would reccomend ? And what LCA's do i have to get in order to put the sway on my car and is the LCA swap necessary to put the rear sway on.

Re: New to Forum

Go with the suspension techniques rear sway or front/rear sway kit. The rear sway does not need the OEM mounting holes on the rear LCA's, it mounts to the lower shock mounts - which brings its closer to the wheels.

I do have '91 Si rear LCA's & a factory rear sway(tiny) if your interested.

Re: New to Forum

Agreed with all of the above, but you should be able to toss on the rear lower strut tie without changing the LCA's, it mounts between the LCA's, connecting them straight across. I really thought that improved the handling of my civic a lot, but have not added a rear sway yet...
