A Bad Tranny??

I have a manual tranny and when my car is in gear..i can just pull it out...ill have my foot off the clutch and off the gas...and i can just pull it out of gear..i never used to be able to ...does this mean something is wrong with the tranny or clutch or something??when im hittin the gas it wont pull out of course..any other time it will

obviously your talking about when it is off or else you would have stalled your car with your foot off the gas and the clutch, so if this is right it is normal to be able to pull it out of gear when the car is off. every standard i have ever had i was able to do this as long as there is no load on the engine.

obviously your talking about when it is off or else you would have stalled your car with your foot off the gas and the clutch, so if this is right it is normal to be able to pull it out of gear when the car is off. every standard i have ever had i was able to do this as long as there is no load on the engine. anotherwards if your parked on a hill it might still do it but it should be very hard to get it out. and when your driving at a certain rpm in every gear you will be able to just pull it out.

No man..im saying while my car is on..and im moving..not stopped...u can take ur foot of gas and clutch while its moving..and thats when i can take it out of any gear...its a 99 LS..so when its moving...and my foot is off gas and clutch i can pull it out of gear,,,does that mean something is wrong?

oh my bad on the mix up, is it grinding going into or out of gear, does the clutch feel different than usual. if not than i dont think there is anything wrong with any standard ive ever driven you can do the same, if your really worried just go to aamco and have them do an external diagnostic test it cost 39.95 but you wont be worried anymore. just drive a diff stick and you'll see that you should be able to do this anytime.

thanks man..my friend drives one to and he said his doesnt do it but i havent tried in his car so im not sure...but everything seems to be workin fine so im not to worried i guess
