brake/transmission interlock
I have a 1995 Suburban. The brake light switch under the dash went bad. I replaced it. Tight fit getting my big arm up there, but a fairly simple swap. EXCEPT...now I can't shift. If I put the key in the first position I can step on the brake, shift into neutral and start the car. If I start as normal, then step on the brake to shift, nothing. Please help, did I knock something loose? Did I do it wrong? Thanks!

Re: brake/transmission interlock
You must have pulled a wire harness loose but it could be just barely loose. Check all the connectors of wires you bumped and especially check the connector going to and from the brake pedal assembly.
