2003 RSX TYPE S INTO 4g4d

Hey id like everyones opinion on this.

Okay my cousin totaled his 2003 rsx type s, i mean it was so bad the insurance company just totalled it out. Basically this big truck rolled over it and crushed the whole right side. From the winshield to the trunk. Well anyway the insurance company let him buy it back and he did. He told me that hed give me whatever i wanted off it for what he paid for it. He said he paid like 3500 which i dont know why it was that cheap but hey.

Okay here is the deal I have a b16a just the engine, and i was getting ready to order the parts for it when this came up. I was going to swap it over winter break. Well anyway how hard do you guys think it is to put a a k-series engine into a 4g4d lx?? Im just thinking 200hp?? Obd2??

Any thoughts??????

What do you think about results vs. cost??\

Thanks

Re: 2003 RSX TYPE S INTO 4g4d

Yeah i was going to do that. I just figured i can get a great deal on it, any accesory or harness i need off the car, plus it is very cheap, and i know about the engine, and car. It only has like 3100 miles on it. So just wanted to take advantage of this.
Besides i figured if the frame on my civic doesnt start to rust with this new engine ill get another 10-12years out of it
lol....

You would definately have to get custom mounts made, and convert to a hydro tranny....dunno how much all that would cost you, but i know it would be cheaper to put the B16 in, and you could probly get 200 hp out of the B16 for the cost of puttin a k-series in a 4th gen

ive never seen this done before either, it will cost a shit load of money too, as the K series motors spin in the oppisite way that the d, b, and h motors spin.

people are always talking about doing this, but i dont think it would work on 4th gens. not only does it spin the opposite way, the block is too tall. not to mention all the things like engine mounts, shift linkage and axles would be very expensive.

get the engine and tranny and whatever else you can salvage and sell it and put the money into the b16
im pretty sure the motor and tranny with as little miles as it has should fetch a pretty penny

Why? It doesn't even make sense.

If you're doing an engine swap for "points", or to be different, you should probably just save your money and not do one at all.

Re: 2003 RSX TYPE S INTO 4g4d

I guess ill buy it and then sell all of the parts. Darn i thought this would kind of work. Plus i am getting such a good deal on it and it has so many low miles. Oh well, i just figure it would be awesome to pull up to a si or rsx and blow them away, and we would have the same engine.
I dunno
Oh well thanks anyway

The K-Series motor will outperform a new B-series motor by leaps and bounds.

Hasport has a mount kit coming out for this swap and it should be out sometime in the middle of next year. It will cost a pretty penny but I've seen dyno charts with a K-series making over 220 whp/160lb ft...

Personally, I would hold on to the K-series and be on of the first to do it in a 4door.

Trust me, you will be killin em...
