Repainting car

Well I have yet another question...My car is black and I wanted it to be yellow but after I thought about it that means my engine bay would be black while the rest of the car is yellow...NOT COOL. So I decided to keep it black. My question is...I just bought the car and it has several dents and dings and I plan on TRYING to fix these myself and then repainting the car black but from what I hear whenever you have a little dent and you fill it you have to scruff up the rest area and then paint. Well I used to have ahouse boat and I bought a sand blaster to remove the paint on it.would it be the easiest to blast the entire car fix my dents, primer and paint? My dad is going to help and he used to paint cars so we have all the professional stuff it's just going to be getting back in the groove. The way I see it though you can always sand down and repaint it if you mess it up too bad. I'll also be adding a kit to it with fender flares. The only hting that is really tempting is I can go to a local shop and get the kit installed, dents fixed, fender flares molded, car repainted black for 1300-1500 dollars. Pretty tempting but it would save me a shitload of money that I can put toward the car in other areas.

My advice would be
-sand the car down
-find the dents and mark them with a piece of tape or something
-fix each dent one at a time
and since you're repainting the whole car, scruffing up the area around it won't be a problem since the car is already sanded down, then after you fix the dents get it ready for paint and spray

This just my but if I were you, I'd take it to the shop (that is, if the money is not a problem, AND if it's fairly reputable. Any warranties offered?) At that price, you can't afford NOT to do it. You've got to ask yourself if you can afford to spend that much time doing it yourself, factoring in the "human error." You said you're dad hadn't done it in a while and was getting back in the groove. No offense to your dad, but the shop does this thing all the time. I wish I knew someone around here that would do it that cheap. I've got a '91 Accord SE I put through some barbwire about 2 years ago, and I've just come into the time and funds to do something with it. Good luck, whatever you do!
ps- You aren't close to KY, are you? I'd like to get in on that deal...
