Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
The difference between an RS and a base Camaro is a ground effects. The differences between Z28's and SS's are the options ordered with the SS (there are many), and the hood, spoiler, and badges...

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
well, the main diff between the Z28 and SS that i would point out is the SS got the ram air hood, worth around 15hp if i am correct. so the Z had 305 hp, and the SS got 320 hp.

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
not one to argue with ya blacky, you know your shit, but are ya sure about that 325???? im prety sure that it was only rated at 320 hp for all years. the only ones that had more that i know of were the SLP cars, and the berger camaros that had 375 hp.

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
Hate to burst your bubble there 89 IROC but all the 97-2002 SS's where SLP cars. SLP took a handfull of Z28's and hooked them up. However, the LS1 SS's where rated at 320hp and I'm not sure about the LT1's but I'm sure it was less. But there where a few others bought by various other companies that had some mega horses, like the Z06 camaro and it's 400 ponies.

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
well, dont worry bout bursting my bubble. you didnt. i was aware that the SS's ordered of the showroom floor were SLP cars. i was referring to the tuners that SLP built, the hotter cars you could buy, not unlike the Berger camaros.

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
Just wanted to drop my $.02... The Newer RS, maybe 98+, maybe 2000+, not sure, had a free-flowing muffler, and came rated at 205Hp, 5 above the base. As for the SS, the 15Hp gain is from exhaust as well, not the ram-air (look it up) nad the first LS1 Z28/SS were rated 305/320, and later ones were bumped to 310/325, all under-rated I'm sure.

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
Speaking of exhaust. Anyone know anything about borla with it's adjustable plates? If I didn't have true duals, I think I would go with that. What do you think??

Re: RS vs Normal camaro's, Z28 vs SS
well, borla is a good company, but i have fallen totally in love with the GMMG chambered exhaust system, sounds amazin, but its pricy, 700 bucks last time i checked. catch is it was designed for the 4th gen camaros, but they say it will work on the third gen.
