Engine Problems

Car woudn't start, but rolled over fine. Thought it might be fuel filter but turns out there was no spark due to oil and there was alot under the air breather in the throttle body. Has anyone ever come across this. I'm thinking it maybe rings but I was wondering if it is possibly due to a faulty PCV valve. Any thoughts. Engine is a 2.2 litre.

So you say that you have no spark due to oil on the plugs well first thing is first check for spark comming form the sparkplug wires, then remove and clean all spark plugs, and check your fuel pressure?
